Stacy & Geoff

So you know this scene from Step-Brothers:

That's basically how I felt after this session. Stacy and Geoff are hilarious. I haven't laughed that much with a couple in darn good while. We chose to keep their engagement pictures around Texas Tech because of all of the ties it has to their relationship, families, and how they ended up getting engaged. They were so comfortable around me and it just made me that much more excited for their wedding in December. I feel like they're going to be people I'm going to want to photograph forever (and people I can go do karate in the garage with.)

Brittney & Dylan

Hello!

First things first: Welcome to my new blog! I'm trying something new, so y'all will have to bear with me for a little while. I'll always be sharing some of my favorite recent shoots but hopefully in the future, you'll be seeing all types of topics covered. Keep your eyes peeled for those!

On to the main focus for this first blog post: the beautiful and hilarious, Brittney + Dylan! When I went through my rebranding earlier this year, I decided that I wanted to switch up the way I did sessions. I wanted more emotion, less posey, and for everyone involved to walk away saying "That was so much fun." To try out some new ideas, I held a model call and I had SO MANY PEOPLE respond, I was blown away. I wanted my first model to be someone I had a little bit of a previous connection with (because I knew I was going to make a fool of myself, so why not someone who already knew that was coming) so I could practice and try out some of my new tricks. Brittney and I went to high school together and I had seen pictures of her boo, so when she applied to the model call, I knew they were going to be great guinea pigs for me. AND. DID. THEY. DELIVER. Holy cow, you guys. This session was amaaaaazingggg. They listened to anything I said, they tried everything I asked (even if it was strange), and they were just so perfect, it made my job easy. They're gorgeous. They're funny. They're so sweet that I cried a couple of times while editing. And y'all, they are so in love. I can't.

Huge thank you to my sister-in-law Erin for being my personal assistant and creative bouncer-offer. And huge-r thank you to Holly Hops Ice Cream and Sugar Browns Cafè for letting me take over their places.

Enjoy these photos and let me know what you think in the comments! On September 25th, if you've left a comment on the actual blog post (not on Facebook), I'm going to pick one person at random to receive a small little gift of appreciation for looking and reading through my first blog post. So yay! Free things!

And because I know someone is going to ask: No. They're not engaged. Yet. ;)
